The 7 Practices of Successful Facilitators

Make du'a to Allah - Always begin with "basmallah" and always seek His guidance and help.

Show a good example - maintain proper Islamic adab.

Take the initiative - be approachable to your participants and offer help/advice as needed.

Focus on the objectives - inform the participants of the objectives of every activity and gather their feedback to find out the effectiveness.

Priorities the important things - in facilitation activities, ensure that first things are placed first e.g safety, ideas etc.

Seek first to understand, then to be understood- create a conducive enviroment whereby participants feel free to participate in discussion and listen attentively to every individual.

Synergies - exchange ideas and experiences with other facilitators.
